Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt said on Friday that he would concentrate to achieve the goal to break his own 200-meter world record in 2014.

Bolt expressed his will during a visit to Tokyo's Olympic Stadium.

"Me and my coach have decided to target the 200 meters, because there is no championship, so we are definitely targeting the 200 meters," he said, "Hopefully I can stay injury-free and everything will go well this season and I can break the world record."

Although Bolt collected three gold medals in the World Championships in Moscow, he never managed a new world record in 2013.

The 27-year-old track star now keeps the current 200 world mark of 19.19seconds and the 100 record of 9.58s.

Bolt, six-time Olympic gold-medal winner, was named IAAF male World Athlete of the Year for the fifth time last week. He said he hoped to retire in 2017 but his coach believed he wouldn't lose his competitiveness until Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
