BEIJING, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- Leaders of political parties around the world have extended congratulations on the successful convening of the fifth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

They spoke highly of the CPC's experience and achievements in persistently advancing full and rigorous Party self-governance, and highly appreciated the important insights that Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building offers for the development of political parties around the world.

Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of Thailand's Democrat Party and former Thai prime minister, said that the CPC has accurately grasped major trends in global development and responded to the fundamental demands of the people.

The CPC's governance practices and valuable experience offer valuable lessons and are worthy of serious reflection by other political parties, he said.

Madhav Kumar Nepal, co-coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party and former Nepali prime minister, said Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building has answered questions that all political parties must confront but few have seriously addressed.

Only by consistently attaching great importance to party building and having the courage to renew itself can a political party lead a country toward lasting peace and stability, he said.

Luther Tarpeh, national chairman of the Unity Party of Liberia, said the CPC's successful governance model has paved the way for national rejuvenation with sustainable development, offering valuable lessons for the Global South countries.

Sophia Shaningwa, secretary general of Namibia's South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO) party, said that Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, has offered an effective solution to address the issue of party governance.

SWAPO is willing to enhance exchanges and mutual learning with the CPC, and systematically study Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building, she said.

Asha-Rose Migiro, secretary-general of Tanzania's Chama Cha Mapinduzi party, said that this meeting will consolidate the institutional foundation for Chinese modernization and the successful implementation of the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development.

Richard Todwong, secretary-general of Uganda's National Resistance Movement, said the CPC's efforts to strengthen party building have provided strong support for realizing Chinese modernization while offering a valuable model for developing countries, including those in Africa, to enhance their governance capacity.

Dmitry Novikov, deputy chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, said what makes the CPC great is its ability to engage in self-reflection, face problems head-on and take action to address them, which ensures that power is exercised to serve the people rather than private interests and that the party maintains vitality and dynamism.

In doing so, the CPC has set an example for political parties in other countries, he said.
