BEIJING, June 26 (Xinhua) -- The trend of "Shopping in China" has emerged as a powerful new engine driving global trade in services, according to a Xinhua think tank report released on Friday.

The report, titled "Shopping in China: Sharing New Opportunities of Open Development," was released by Xinhua Institute, a think tank affiliated with Xinhua News Agency.

In 2025, China's exports of travel services surged 49.5 percent year on year to 393.98 billion yuan (about 57.8 billion U.S. dollars), making it the fastest-growing sector within service exports, the report said.

"Shopping in China" has directly driven a surge in China's travel service exports, and comprehensive experiences of international tourists in China not only optimize China's trade structure but also inject robust momentum into the recovery of the global tourism services market, it noted.

The booming trend also drives the synergistic development of related global service industries, including aviation, insurance and finance, according to the report.
