GUANGZHOU, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- Luckin Coffee, a leading Chinese coffee chain, officially opened its first Brazilian coffee-themed store in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in the city of Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong Province, on Monday.

It is the brand's fourth such store in China. Luckin currently operates over 20,000 stores across China. Over the years, it has actively promoted coffee trade and economic cooperation with Brazil.

According to the company, from 2025 to 2029, Luckin Coffee will purchase a total of 240,000 tonnes of coffee beans from Brazil, valued at 10 billion yuan (about 1.4 billion U.S. dollars). This marks Luckin's largest coffee bean procurement plan to date.

Brazil is one of the world's largest coffee producers, supplying at least one-third of the global coffee beans. Meanwhile, China's coffee market is in a phase of rapid growth.

Luckin has established high-quality coffee planting bases in Brazil, allowing it to be closely involved in daily production at the source and strengthen its control over coffee bean quality. Additionally, Luckin provides training to Brazilian coffee farmers on coffee cultivation and processing techniques.

The company said it plans to launch more than 30 Brazilian coffee-themed stores across China and build a new Brazilian Coffee Museum.
