TAAG Angola Airlines and China Lucky Aviation (CLCA) signed Wednesday an agreement that enabled the opening this week of the Changsha/Luanda/Sao Paulo route (China/Angola /Brazil) for the transport of cargo.

The agreement is expected to generate an annual 200 million U.S. dollars turnover.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, TAAG CEO, Eduardo Fairen, said the Angolan airlines will initially be operating with Boeing 777-200 ER.

Eduardo Fairen, the TAAG CEO, added that for now, there will be two flights per week carrying various types of cargo, from clothing to logistical material, in an estimated movement of around 200 or 300 tons per week.

Fairen explained that Angolan airlines plan to add other Chinese cities to their flight routes, such as Hong Kong, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing.

China Lucky Aviation representative in Angola, Tongxi Li, in his turn, said the agreement signed will generate 200 direct jobs at Angola's airports, underscoring that the partnership between Lucky Aviation and TAAG is an example of successful economic cooperation bringing commercial aviation sector closer between the two countries.

Founded in 1938, TAAG currently makes 14 domestic and 12 international flights for passengers and cargo.
