14 Iranian border guards were kidnapped by an armed group in Mirjaveh border point in Iran's southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan Province on Tuesday, official IRNA news agency reported.

The Iranian security forces were kidnapped at early hours of Tuesday morning, an informed source told IRNA.

No further details are available about the incident, the report said.

Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan Province, bordering Pakistan, is the locus for frequent armed clashes between the Iranian security forces and armed rebels or smugglers.
