Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has taken necessary measures to protect Iranian authorities from bio-terrorist attacks, IRGC's security commander told Tasnim news agency Tuesday.
Ali Nasiri, commander of the IRGC's security squad, said the IRGC is duty bound to combat any kind of threats and prepare necessary facilities and training programs, including plans to counter bio-terrorism, to guard Iranian authorities and scientists.
Stressing the need to update its capabilities to deal with such threats, Nasiri said his forces have received necessary training, while experts in this field have also been recruited.
In July 2016, Gholam Reza Jalali, head of Iran's Civil Defense Organization, called for measures to ward off bio-terrorist attacks and protect senior Iranian officials from falling victim to such plots.
