Ten hand grenades and an anti-personnel mine were found by Serbian police on Monday morning at the Belgrade airport, according to a press release of the Serbian interior ministry.

However, the release states that the grenades and the mine were not filled with explosives, but were rather practice explosives.

The devices were found during a regular counter-diversion check. Police are investigating.

In a written release distributed to media, Borko Papic, deputy commander of the border police station at the airport, confirmed that the grenades and the mine had been found, but explained that they were useless and did not present any danger.

Papic said the grenades were of different sizes and packed in bags in the cargo department, and that a specialized team had taken them away from the airport.
