BEIJING, Nov. 29 (Gwadar Pro) – China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is an open and inclusive platform. China and Pakistan welcome all proposed ideas that support the Belt and Road Initiative and CPEC, noted Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian during the Regular Press Conference on November 28.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his visit to Turkey had a press briefing with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on November 26, saying Pakistan welcomes Turkey to participate in the construction of the CPEC project. He also said he’s willing to discuss with the leadership of China on this.

In response to a question regarding the Pakistani PM’s visit to Turkey, Zhao pinpointed that “We welcome that countries and international organizations engaged in mutually beneficial cooperation for common development with China and Pakistan will participate in CPEC through appropriate forms to share the benefits of Belt and Road cooperation.”

It is worth mentioning that CPEC, a pilot project of BRI was launched in 2013 focusing on cooperation in Gwadar Port, energy, infrastructure, and industries.
