Indebted nations suffer from U.S. rates rise

The U.S. Federal Reserve imposed another 75-basis-point rate hike in a bid to curb rampant inflation which remains four-decade high on July 27. A U.S. rate rise can not only increase the cost of borrowing dollars, but also encourage investors to draw their money back to the United States, draining their investment in other countries. Moreover, it may lead to the appreciation of dollar, impacting their ability to pay debt.
